I haven’t had a chance to post personal pics from our crazy vacation last month, I’ll do that soon….. but I did have to share these pics from our family shoot with the world famous tara whitney.  I have been following tara for a few years now and loved the authentic relationships that she captures in her photography.  I have been wanting to have her shoot our family forever but was really motivated after my scare in the fall.  I had a huge tumor removed from my neck, it grew very quickly and suddenly and made us pretty nervous until it was removed and we were told that it was benign.  It made me realize how important it was to have family pictures, that tumor could have easily gone the other way and changed our lives dramatically, life is so fragile, we never know what will happen to ourselves or our family members.  I was obsessed and determined, much to my husbands dismay that we had to have family pics done pronto.  It happened to work out perfectly since we had been planning a trip to disneyland.  I am so happy to have this time in our lives captured!

Madison really was the best baby, I know I say that about all of my newborns, really I have had a great run of amazing newbies.  madison was fantastic, at five days old she was a champ.  Her parents were great.  Dad was extremely involved and into the entire shoot, he held blankets, moved furniture and helped in any was possible.  he watched everything i did to soothe madison and then later would use the same techniques.  he was great! madison is a lucky girl to have such great parents.

The senior season is upon us!  I’m so excited!!!!!  I love to work with teens, they keep my creative juices flowing, working to make each shoot individual and unique to fit their specific personality and likes.  Angelica is an amazing young woman, she is attending BYU on a full soccer scholarship next year, she is phenomenal, she has even been featured in Sports Illustrated!  She was great to work with and up for anything, I shot her in Utah and was so excited,  I have always wanted to shoot in an orchard and finally had a chance.  Thanks Angelica for the great shoot and having me come all the way to Utah to photograph you!

Emerson was the best baby, she is so adored by her family.  My kiddos are really close together, which has its advantages, but I now see how it would be fabulous to have a bit of space between them.  Mom was just drinking her in, enjoying every moment because you realize how fast and fleeting this time is.  Everyone was anxiously anticipating her arrival.  Emerson is so lucky to be surrounded by so much love from such a great family.

Check out this handsome little guy, and can you believe how stunning mom looks 8 days after giving birth?  Really, it’s just not fair!  I love getting to know my clients, who become friends.  I learned while chatting with mom during feedings what a miracle this little baby was, and how hard they had worked to get him here safely.  Their story immediately changed the focus of the shoot from being primarily about the newborn to being about the family, I wanted to show the completeness and joy they now felt since an infant was finally in their lives and this son theirs forever.  Thank you for trusting me to capture this amazing time in your lives!

I couldn’t help but show you a preview from today.  I have photographed these little guys since they were newborns, it is so fun to watch them grow!!  We had a great time on the putting green, they were hilarious!  I love their little personalities.

I lalalala LOVED shooting on the central ca coast, it was gorgeous with the vineyards etc.  We focused on the mom and kids in this shoot, since she is a great photog and has millions of pics of her own children that are fabulous but none with her, we wanted to show proof of life in a fun way.  Have fun blanketing your walls with these pics Kim, you look fab!

Ed Walker our future Senator?  Before I left on vacation, Ed called me about taking some campaign pictures for the upcoming election.   I will try to be completely nonbiased in regards to politics but I can tell you how nice his family was, the kids were polite yet had a great time together, they really enjoyed each other, this is a fab family!!  Good Luck Ed!

This little bundle of sweetness is the fourth in their family! I photographed her when she was five days old then a few days later she was admitted to the hospital for five days with RSV, thankfully she is doing well and she recovered nicely. Welcome to the world McKenna, we are so glad you are healthy!!

I know I’ve posted pics of lips like this before but I can’t stop myself. I love the skooshed up little lips and indented chin, they don’t last very long on newborns and they are one of my favorite features. They are so scrumptious, who could resist?
