This family was so fun!  After the pre consult I had no doubt this would be a great shoot, they were up for anything. They love to hang out together and goof around.  They often have nerf gun fights in the rims across the street from their house, watch out for flying foam bullets if you are ever on a hike.  They are major animal lovers, I think a couple of the neighbor dogs that they babysit were invited into the shot.  Thanks guys for a great afternoon!

turkey hunting and swim caps….????

This is one of the most active families I know.  We met five years ago when we were both expecting our third babies, both boys, we played often when we had littles at home to preserve our sanity and enjoyed conversation with another adult during the day.  Then the kiddos started school and things got crazy busy, our schedules never seemed to mesh and it got harder and harder to get together.   We would run into each other with promises of playmates, but time went by way too fast.   I was thrilled when she called and scheduled a session, (their oldest graced one of the first covers of Simply Family magazine) we finally got to see each other for more than five minutes!  They are so busy with fun activities!  They are major athletes, with swimming at the top of the list so we had to don the swim caps and make fishy faces of course, and the boys LOVE to bird hunt, Dad thought I was a little crazy when I asked him to bring the turkey decoys from the garage but we had to make sure and get them all decked out.  I cried with mom when we looked at the slideshow at the studio.  Everyone is getting so big and time is flying by.  You’ll be happy to know that we have had a playdate in the last little bit and the kids had a blast!  LOVE them.  Oh, did I mention mom is crazy talented too?  See those adorable hats in the last image? yep – she made those!  and you should see the baby sweater she showed me!  wow!!

Happy Valentine’s Day!  I had to share this little cutie from New Jersey with you.  I get to photograph her every time she comes into town, I love watching her grow and her personality emerge.  She is so fun, she had a “perfect” session, she was laughing and full of smiles the whole time, we had a blast.  She loved my hearts, once she had a hold of them, there was no letting go.  (A perfect cheesy Valentines day comparison, don’t ya think? My kids have my heart completely!  sorry I couldn’t help it)

I have had many requests so here it is – the exciting travel news! I will be accepting sessions in the following cities – more dates and cities to be announced at a later date.

The Big Apple – NYC  March 15-17          Richmond, Virginia – April 28-29             Toronto, Ontario – Canada eh?  May 28-31

Please contact me if you are interested in getting on the schedule!  I can’t wait to work with you!

I’ve had so many requests to put up pics of the new studio – so here you go –  the before  – and one year later!  I am so pleased with how everything turned out!  It was a crazy process, but well worth it!  For everyone that worked on it with me, thank you for your patience and support!  I love my new space, down to the last detail.  I can’t get over the gorgeous original wood floors or the custom iron work on the hanging barn doors, I am in a state of pure bliss whenever I walk in.  We have had such a great response, a place to shoot, meet clients and work in an organized fab space, I’m so excited to share it with my amazing clients, I couldn’t ask for anything more!  I’m thrilled that this is the new home of Jana Graham Photography.

Photographers wanted!!!

I am the area coordinator for Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep (check it out here),  an amazing volunteer organization that offers remembrance photography for those families suffering the loss of a baby.  “The foundation is there for parents and families to help aid them in their healing, bring hope to their future, and honor to their child. It is through remembrance that a family can begin to heal”  In the past few months we have had two wonderful photographers that had to take a break due to personal family situations.   I would love to have others join our team,  I am heartbroken if I am out of town and have to tell the nursing staff that we will not be able to help them.  This service is done out of pure love, there isn’t any recognition, (I rarely even mention my name, but only say that I am there with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep) no monetary gain, quite often it happens late into the night when all is quiet and still.  There is a feeling of personal gratitude after each session, every time I leave I feel extremely thankful for all of the little things in my life.  It is rewarding and gratifying, to know that you are helping someone heal, it is an honor to be part of such a private and incredible moment in their lives.  This is such a fantastic organization that anyone would be proud to be a part of.  We need kind, empathetic photographers that are looking for a way to give back to this community that gives so much, even if you are only able to help every once in awhile it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me for more information, I would love to talk to you and answer any questions you may have.  Thank you!

Extended family sessions are always fun, they usually happen when family comes into town and everyone is together.  They are typically planned way in advance and are much anticipated.  It’s always fun to watch the family interact, watch cousins joke around, and grandma love every minute of seeing all of herfamily in one place.

I love photographing Mr. B!  Here he is as a newborn (check it out here and here) and then at our spring minis here.  We decided to include the whole family and get a great one of all of them, not hard to do….they looked amazing.  It was a freezing day, but this little man kept it together so that we could get some great shots.  I can’t wait to meet and photograph his little brother that will be arriving soon!  Congrats!
