You may recognize this little guy from inside the November issue of Simply Family Magazine. This family was braving the October cold spell when it was 22 degrees! They were happy and fun despite the temp, it’s amazing what a thermos of hot chocolate will do for your spirits!

I just realized that I hadn’t posted in a week, it flew by, I have a lot of catching up to do. You may recognize this adorable family from my holiday card samples, but I couldn’t resist showing a couple of more from their session. Mom just ordered gallery wraps and large wall prints that I delivered yesterday, they were to die for.

Sarah

I used this first picture in my new ad for the November Simply Family Magazine. Sarah was awesome to work with, it is so fun to see how seniors emerge during photo shoots, they start out a bit awkward and timid but mid way they are working it and completely comfortable, taking direction like a super star!

happy halloween

Saturday, October 31, 2009

Halloween at the Graham house was especially fun this year since Mimi and Grandpa came to join us from Canada. Mimi brought a doll making kit which kept the girls busy in the morning, of course we had to take advantage of the great weather and get in some outside play time. Next on the agenda: carving pumpkins – followed by Chris and his parents making gourmet sausages while I entertained the kids outside, on the tramp and play set. Then after much anticipation we downed pizza and got our into our costumes, a tiger, supergirl and a dinosaur, who also wanted to be included in the face paint and insisted on a black eye, how do you explain to a two year old that a black eye doesn’t really go with a dinosaur? We pick the battles at our house.

Dillon

Dillon was such a nice guy, he was quick to smile and fun to photograph. He is a superstar – great football player and super student, I had an even better time two weeks later when I photographed him with his sisters during a mini shoot. It was so cute to watch him with his 6 year old sis, he was so sweet and adoring. all at the same time now, “aaaaaaawwwwwwwww”. 🙂 Sorry Dillon probably not what you wanted your football buddies to hear, but it really melted my heart. Stay tuned for the pics from that shoot.

This family was so funny, mom had me rolling. I love taking family photos when they tell me they haven’t done it FOREVER … I’m honored that they are allowing me to capture their family and so happy for them that they will now have great current pics to treasure. Time flies ………….

Check out this beauty! She calls New Jersey home, but visits her extended family in Billings a few times a year. I shot her three month pics while she was in town earlier in the year and was thrilled when they called and wanted to set up another session during their upcoming visit. I am looking forward to photographing her as she grows up, her smile is infectious. I love seeing her and her fabulous mama when they come to town.

Dad requested we work the Montana thing and have an outdoorsy background for their Christmas card pics that would be delivered around New Jersey. Mission accomplished – I love this one, she is flawless.

Peanut

Is she not the sweetest thing you have ever seen? I love her carrying her beloved stuffed animal. “Peanut” is how she is affectionately known by her family and friends, they have called her that from the beginning, I photographed her as an infant and they were calling her Peanut then. It fits her so well.

Her mom and I have the same philosophy about great pictures, she told me during this shoot how these mean the world to her, she would rather go without other things and be able to have pictures of her family that she will treasure forever, “they are only this age once, you have to capture it before it’s gone.” I always get teary when clients tell me their shared feelings, these little guys are growing up so fast, I look at my babies and can’t believe how big they are and how fast it is flying by, regretting that I am not taking pictures of every single moment. (ok once again that is my goal) watch for updates and please call me out if I don’t do it. I feel so fortunate to be the one to capture precious moments in your families lives, thank you for trusting me and letting me in. ok enough mushiness, I need to get to bed.forweb1
